Forget Disney World

{ F21 top, shorts & belt; Target wedges; Agaci sunnies; gifted necklace }

I received the most wonderful news today! On August 26th I will be taking a weekend trip up to Orlando, Florida with Trae and my parents. My mom has business to do over there, and she kindly invited us to tag along! Of course the first thing to pop in my mind was obvious: I'm finally going to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Cue angels singing.

It's been on my bucket list ever since I even heard a Harry Potter theme park was in the works. I went to the Islands of Adventure (where HP World is) in the summer of 2009 and saw it being built. I was pretty peeved because I thought it would be years until I finally got to go. But alas, the day has been set for next month, and I'm so excited!! We are going the very first weekend I start school, so I'll be praying that I don't get assigned any homework for those days!

Reverse Effect

{ F21 dress (worn underneath), skirt, & flats; Agaci belt; Target sunnies }

The weekend has arrived! Doesn't it just make you wanna sing the Rebecca Black "Friday" song? Yeah, me either. Though I couldn't say that when the song first came out. Shame on me, right?

In this previous post, I wore a dress as a skirt. For this outfit, I did kind of the opposite and wore a dress for just the top part and added a skirt for a different look. The skirt is pretty light, so adding the extra layer wasn't so hard to stand in the heat. Geez, I complain a lot about the heat in Texas. But honestly, I'd prefer it over the northern states' winters any day. I don't how they stand it!

Fancy That Friday

1. I've been obsessing for quite some time. Anyone think they're worth it?

{via}

2. I must remember to do this!

{via}

3. It's the little things, don'tcha think?

{via}

4. And I thought I was obsessed...

{via}

5. When I have a baby, I'm totally putting this in their room. Even when they're 30.

Before I optained my DSLR camera, I never was able to post any outfit pictures. I just hated the way they turned out on my point-and-shoot camera. But I had to put something on my blog (that's the point of a blog right? to have things to see/read?), and one of those somethings were my Fancy That Fridays (which weren't always on Fridays... but now they are!) where I basically just show y'all things I've been diggin' over the past week. I thought it time I bring it back, what do you think?

Flea Market Simplicity

( F21 top & shorts; Hollister belt; DSW sandals; Target sunnies & bag; Gifted bracelets )

I went to the flea market today, so I thought I'd keep things simple since the heat doesn't really permit layering clothes. Do they even have flea markets outside of Texas? They probably do, but in case your town doesn't, it's not somewhere to buy fleas. You can get those free. It's a giant outdoor marketplace where people sell things for cheap whether it be stuff they made or just their old junk from the 90's and such. Like thrifting!

I didn't buy anything (against the rules, remember?), but I had fun browsing all the random stuff which most of it I could recall from my childhood. I wish I could say I bought the bag I'm wearing at a flea market, but sadly, no. It's from Target, and I just couldn't resist getting it (before the challenge started, of course)! Lately, I've had a slight obsession for cross-shoulder bags. I love how they add a little extra oomph to an outfit. Still, I hate how I can only carry a couple things in it as opposed to my giant handbags which are able to hold my entire life. If only we had the technology to produce one of these. Then, I'd be set.

xx

P.S. I'll be making some slight changes to the blog; no need to freak out! :)

Sweet Sixteen

( Express top; F21 skirt & belt; Wanted wedges )

After today, I'll have worn every piece of clothing (including shoes) from my 30 for 30 challenge. To me, that just means the tough part is only beginning. It's all about the remixing now, and looking back at my chosen pieces, I realize I could have done a much more thoughtful selection. Most of the tops and dresses I picked are things I haven't worn in years but thought that by doing this challenge, I'd finally see their versatility. I think I made this a little more difficult than it had to be. Way to go, me. The next remaining half of outfits should be interesting, hopefully!

Dash of Gold

( Target romper & cardigan; Old Navy belt; F21 bracelet, & sandals )

 Is it even legal for girls to wear cardigans in 100 degree weather? Today was just a chill day indoors (thank goodness) with family, so I guess I'll never know. Unfortunately, I haven't yet mastered the technique of taking decent looking in-door shots, so for a brief agonizing few minutes, I mustered up the courage to go outside like this. It randomly made me feel bad for those who work at amusement parks and such wearing those giant, sweaty mascot/character costumes. Those brave people. I would die in that kind of heat. Yay for air conditioning!

A new blogger learns an old trick

( Old Navy dress; F21 top & belt; Target wedges )

Yup, it's the old "dress-worn-as-a-skirt" trick. I've seen so many awesome bloggers pull of this look, so I wanted to give it a go. This top wasn't exactly the perfect choice to pair over a dress because of it's long length. Solution? I found a wide belt and simply tucked in the leftover material while pushing most of it to the back of the dress. Ta-da! Still, I feel this look would've been easier to pull off with a crop top or something you would be able to tie at the front. Oh well, next time!

On a random note, my hair never looks as good as it does in that last picture. I have naturally wavy hair, but  I can't just "do nothing" to it like some lucky girls. In case you're curious, all I did was split my hair in two sections and braid them right after a shower. I blow-dryed them just a tad and added some hair spritz to each braid. The next step was the hard part: I went to sleep. When I woke up, I unraveled my braids aaaand that was it! Easy peasy.

I'm a Little Bit Country

( Agaci bag; F21 everything else )

I own one pair of cowboy boots that I bought once I was admitted into the University of Texas where basically everyone wears them, especially on game days (as in, American football). No, not all Texans own or wear cowboy boots. We all do, however, ride a horse bareback to school everyday.

I have a hard time finding clothes that look good with my boots, and this top is one of the few. It's probably the "countriest" thing I have in my wardrobe. That being said, I wasn't convinced I would have a place for it in my 30 for 30 challenge, but once I had the idea to pair them with these shorts, it all just seemed to mesh together. Now I don't look as country. Just a little bit.

Sunset Mindset

( F21 shorts, top & flats; Charlotte Russe cardigan )

The boyfriend and I are about to head to the movies for date night (Captain America, heck yes..) so this will be a short post. We're on day twelve of this challenge, and I'm already a bit worn out. I mean, not only do I have to get dressed everyday (hey, sometimes a girl just wants to be lazy and chill out in her sweatpants), but I also have to take pictures of those said outfits everyday? Doesn't sound like a big deal, sure, but when I've been home all day and look like freakin' Shrek, pictures are the last thing I wanna do! Props to all the girls who complete this challenge without going insane. Okay, I exaggerate, but you get the idea! /end pointless and slightly sarcastic rant

Happy weekend!
