My Week through Instagram

This week was a fun one. I went to a Ron Paul rally on Thursday; for those that don't know, Ron Paul is the independent candidate for the 2012 Presidential election. I'll be honest, I'm not very political, but my roommate is a huge Ron Paul fan so I decided to go just to hear what he had to say. He's a little too radical for my taste, but it was still kind of interesting.

Yesterday was the annual boat party for my spirit group! We went out to Lake Travis for some fun, swimming and BBQ. It was such a pretty day! I haven't gotten the chance to swim in a lake since I was in high school. And even then, I'm not sure if I actually got in the water. I was weird haha. We all had a great time though!

Circus Theme Party

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the party we threw last Friday! I was in charge of decorating! From the wall decor, to the food, to the tiny details, I really wanted to make everything look perfect. I worked super hard on it! I was there to set up from 2:30 in the afternoon all the way until 10:30 pm to clean up. It was a looooong day to say the least, but everyone had a ton of fun and that's all that matters!

The High-Low Down

Once I become brave enough to try new trends, I tend to go a bit overboard. Like the high-low skirt trend for example, I used to hate them. And now I can't get enough! This is actually a high-low dress, but the bust area was so loose that I wanted to add an extra layer for some coverage. Keepin' it classy!

This is my first ever Fossil bag, and I absolutely adore it! Well, I'm not sure if I can technically call it mine yet. My stepdad got it for my mom for her birthday, but she didn't like it very much. What is she thinking?! I'll never know. She plans on returning it, so I decided to rescue the poor bag and took it back home to Austin with me lol. Mom wasn't too pleased about that...

My Week through Instagram

 This has been one of the most stressful weeks I've had in a long time! Not only did I have three essays to write (one being 12 pages long which I stayed up until 2 AM trying to finish), but I had a very important party to plan for my spirit group! I was there all day Friday setting up, and by the time the party started, I was ready for a nap! But I managed to stay awake, and thankfully everything turned out amazing! I'll be sure to post pictures about it this week!

Aside from that, I went to the lake yesterday by my apartment complex and randomly got to see a swan come ashore! It was so beautiful! I was surprised at how close we were able to get to it without making it mad lol. My past experience with big birds hasn't always been pleasant! Still, it was a lovely sight to see :)

 Sooooo is anyone else here on Pottermore yet? I joined the other day and have already become obsessed (as I am with the books, movies, theme park, etc). They put me in the house of Ravenclaw haha! I always thought that if Hogwarts was a real place, I would be a Ravenclaw. Weird, right?

Fancy That Friday; Circus Circus

Feeling Neutral

I finally got to wear the shorts I've been lusting after since I first saw something similar to them on Pinterest! I wasn't sure what to pair with them though. Being away at college means my wardrobe is split in two, so what I want to wear isn't always at my grasp.

Luckily, I found this top at the bottom of a giant pile I have on my floor (my indecisiveness leads to so much clutter, it's quite embarrassing) and ta-da! And of course, my go-to cardigan was right there to help me add an extra oomf. Never fails.

Wanted: Variety

{ F21 from head to toe }

Yikes, these past couple weeks have been so overwhelming, and this week is no different! I'm running for an officer position (secretary in case you were wondering) in my spirit group at school, and part of the process includes putting on a party for all the members, making a scrapbook about why people should vote for you, and creating a presentation on election day (which is next Tuesday, eeep)! So if my outfit posts become a bit scarce for awhile, you'll know why!

While I was typing out where all my clothes are from, I suddenly realized every piece (including jewelry) was bought at a Forever 21. I don't think I've ever worn an outfit where everything was from the same place! Am I that one-dimensional? Maybe it's a sign from the fates of retail telling me, "Stop shopping there! There are other stores too!" My bad. But how can I resist clothes so cute and, more importantly, so cheap?? Trust me, if I could afford shopping at places like Zara and J.Crew, I'd be there in a heartbeat!

My Week through Instagram

How do you like my new mustache? As you can tell, I've been having a lot of fun with these silly handheld props I made. I'm helping to put on a party next week for my spirit group, so I decided to make all of these mustaches, lips, glasses, etc for the photobooth we're going to have! I'm super excited to show everyone!

Trae came to visit last night, and we decided to try a new place to eat. We found this small place hidden under an overpass called 360 Cafe where they sell a mix of seafood and Vietnamese food. I got crawfish which I have never tried before; it was sooo gooood! The perfect end to an otherwise stressful week!

The Go-To Cardigan

{ F21 dress, boots, & belt; Express cardigan; gifted earrings & bracelet }

I'm pretty sure this is the first post where I wear this cardigan... which is odd because it's my most used piece in my closet! The neutral tone allows it to go with just about anything! I always make a grab for it when I know I'm going to be somewhere cold or if I want to add a bit of layering to an outfit.

In other random news, Android phones finally got the Instagram app which was a "HALLELUJAH" moment for me! If I ever wanted to use it before, I would always have to borrow Trae's iPhone which can get pretty tedious. So if you have Instagram, you can follow me here! :)
